Day of the Great October Revolution – this is how it was supposed to indicate the birth of a new state in the USSR, that is, with three capital letters. Exactly 7 November 1917 years in Petrograd (which later became Leningrad, Now — Saint Petersburg), rebels - workers, sailors, — captured the Winter Palace and overthrew the provisional government. According to the old style, this happened on the night of 26 on 27 October, in a new way - with 7 on 8 November. The new government proclaimed itself the Power of the Soviets. Russia's tsarist past was gradually put to rest, and a new state arose on the map - the USSR - the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, which greatly influenced world history.
